FIRST CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Welcome to Siren Call Magazine everyone.
We are looking for flash fictions between 500 and 1000 words for our first issue as well as illustrations.

The entered story must be between 500 and 1000 words and adhering to the defined criteria. Stories must be the original work of the entrant, and previously unpublished. Once an entry has been submitted, it is final and cannot be withdrawn or edited by the entrant. However, Siren Call Magazine reserves the right to edit for obvious minor typos before publication if required, where it will not substantially change the work.
All manuscripts should be in 12-point type, double-spaced, with at least one-inch margins, and sequentially numbered pages. The author’s name, address, telephone number, and email address should be typed at the top of the first page. Contributors are asked to include a brief biographical note with their submissions.
The entered art work must be signed by the artist, scanned and submitted in jpeg, in the highest definition possible. Siren Call Magazine does not accept hard copies.
Submission must be in English and is open to entrants worldwide aged 18 years and over. As Siren Call Magazine focuses on Australian artists, the ratio in published issues will be: 80% Australian artists, 20% International artists.
The call for submission is FREE to enter. Any other costs associated with submitting a story or an artwork (e.g. Internet access charges) are the entrant’s responsibility.
The Siren Call Magazine's appointed editor’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Incomplete or indecipherable submissions will be deemed invalid.
Copyright is retained by the authors at all times. By submitting their story or artwork, all entrants grant permission for their story or artwork to be published (along with their name/pen name) on the Siren Call Magazine's website, newsletter and social media platforms, and read aloud on the ‘Little French Writing Hood’ podcast. The successful authors wins author grant Siren Call Magazine first rights to publish their winning entry in any future anthology of stories.
Siren Call Magazine collects personal information in order to conduct the competition and will never disclose this information to a 3rd party. Siren Call Magazine may, for an indefinite period unless otherwise advised, use the information for its own promotional, marketing and publicity purposes including sending electronic messages or telephoning the entrant. Entrants should direct any request to access, update or correct information to Siren Call Magazine.

You may change your details at any time by advising us in writing via email. All information we receive from our customers is protected by our secure servers. Siren Call Magazine secure server software encrypts all customer information before it is sent to us. Furthermore, all customer data collected is secured against unauthorized use or access. Credit card information is not stored by us on our servers.
We do not and will not sell or deal in personal or customer information. We may however use in a general sense without any reference to your name, your information to create marketing statistics, identify user demands and assist in meeting customer needs generally. In addition, we may use the information that you provide to improve our website and services but not for any other use.
Disclosure of Information
Siren Call Magazine may be required, in certain circumstances, to disclose information in good faith and where the Educator’s Symposium & Resource Emporium is required to do so in the following circumstances: by law or by any court; to enforce the terms of any of our customer agreements; or to protect the rights, property or safety of our customers or third parties.
